Why do you buy expensive baby bedding

A friend of mine has just had a baby girl. She has been waiting for the child impatiently for months and now she has finally arrived. My friend and her husband are rather well-off and they like buying expensive things. They make no exceptions for their child. I would never buy expensive toys or clothes for a newborn baby because it is obvious that the child will either get bored with them or grow out of them rather quickly. But when I went shopping with my friend a couple of days ago, she bought some really expensive baby bedding for her daughter. It cost her over 400 pounds so for me it would be too much but perhaps she doesn"t think it"s a lot of money. She chose a set of bedding ornamented with some safari shapes such as zebra or tiger straps. Two travel bags for parents and toys for the child were sold together with the bedding. The set was made of some very good fabric, but I think that it was much too expensive anyway. My friend also bought a pair of onesies and a bib for her daughter. Of course, she did not choose the reasonably priced items in spite of the fact that such items were available at the shop, too. Well, that"s her choice. Her child will grow out of the baby bedding and the clothes really soon, of course, but I am sure that she and her husband have enough money to pay for more sets.
